Montreal-based Lufa Farms opens up first indoor farm

Lufa Farms, the Montreal-based grower, has opened its first indoor farm. Previously, the company grew produce in rooftop greenhouses. 

The farm is located in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal in the former Sears headquarters. It uses technology from Green Automation, it was also equipped with a single-level hydroponic growing system and LED lighting. The farm currently produces lettuce, spinach, celery, basil, kohlrabi, fennel and watercress.
